Approximately every other week, there is an Evensong service in Kemsing church at 6.30pm.
This follows the pattern of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer service of Evening Prayer. We sing 3 or 4 hymns, sing the Psalm for the day, as well as a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis. There is a sermon of about 10 minutes, and some prayers for the needs of the world, the country, the community and the church.
Apart from the month of August, when the choir have a break, our robed choir leads the singing.
Three times a year, the choir prepare additional items for the service; it's not quite a full "choral Evensong", but it is certainly a fuller service on those weeks, and those are the weeks with the largest attendance.
Everyone is very welcome to these services, which usually last about an hour.
